What Pulse will and will not do with a profile page
Pulse reads the profile or listing already on your screen and structures the role, organization, experience and any public contact details it can verify, never inventing a fact that isn't actually on the page.
This is deliberately a narrow tool. Pulse structures the public page you have chosen to open, when you click, and it does not hold a database of people, search for individuals, or work through a list of profiles in the background. There is no bulk mode to switch on. What you get is the page in front of you, turned into a record, which is the difference between reading a public page carefully and harvesting a population.
The honesty rule matters more here than almost anywhere else. A job title that is not on the page stays missing rather than being inferred from a company name, and a contact route that the person has not published does not appear because Pulse guessed a pattern. That restraint is what makes the record usable: every field can be traced back to the page it came from, so a colleague can check it, and nothing in the export needs to be defended later. Using it responsibly, and within the terms of the sites and the law that applies to you, remains your call.
What does it take from a profile?
The role, organization, experience and any contact details the profile publishes publicly, structured into one record instead of copied field by field.
Does it infer anything the page doesn't say?
No. If a detail isn't on the page, it isn't in the result. That is deliberate: a blank field is more useful than an invented job title.
Does it work on job listings too?
Yes. A listing structures into the same shape, role, organization, location and requirements, which makes several openings easy to compare side by side.
Can it build me a list of people?
No. Pulse works on the single public page you have open, when you click. It holds no database of people, it does not search for individuals, and there is no bulk mode that works through profiles in the background.
Does it guess email addresses?
No. Pulse reports the contact routes a page actually publishes. It does not assemble an address from a naming pattern, because a guessed contact is wrong often enough to be worse than an empty field.
Whose responsibility is it to use this properly?
Yours. Pulse reads public pages you choose to open, and how you may use what you find is governed by the terms of the site and the law that applies to you. Our responsible use page sets out where we draw the line.
