# Pulse Extractor > Pulse Extractor (also called Pulse) is a Chrome productivity, research and workflow extension that turns the webpage you are viewing into structured, editable, reusable output. It structures the page into a result, researches the organization behind it across its own website and wider public sources, captures the complete page as a high resolution PNG or multi-page PDF, and recovers a selected region (a table, a text block or an image) as editable content that can be edited, annotated and redacted before it leaves. Results export to Excel (.xlsx), Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), PDF, CSV, JSON, text, PNG, Copy, or one ZIP with every available export. It is used by researchers, analysts, students and teachers, sales and business-development teams, recruiters and operations professionals. Key facts, stated exactly as on the website: - Platform: Google Chrome extension, installed from the Chrome Web Store. A free account is required; no card is required for the Free plan. - Plans (USD): Free $0; Lite $6.99 a month or $69 a year; Starter $12 a month or $120 a year; Pro $29 a month or $290 a year; Intelligence $59 a month or $590 a year. - Current Chrome Web Store release: 0.5.8 (Smart Snip, Smart Snip Studio, and editable Word and PowerPoint export included). Planned beyond 0.5.8: Formula recognition; Focused Research: name what matters and get research centered on it; More text-recognition languages, including Urdu, Hindi, Persian and Turkish; Handwriting support; Dossier-level Research intelligence; Scan cleanup and perspective correction for photographed documents; Pulse Workspace: a persistent home for saved research, past extractions, snips, captures, exports and notes. No dates are promised. - Free ("Start doing real work with Pulse"; real Pulse, no card, no subscription): 20 Page Extractions a month, 20 Full-Page Captures a month, 10 Professional Exports a month, 20 Smart Snips a month, and 1 lifetime Research run. Copy, Copy Image and Copy Text never count. - Lite ("Everyday productivity"): 100 Page Extractions a month, 100 Full-Page Captures a month, 100 Professional Exports a month, 60 Smart Snips a month, and 3 Research runs a month. Annual Lite is billed once a year and the allowances refresh every month. Lite is bought inside Pulse, monthly or annual. - Starter ("Extract without limits"): unlimited Page Extractions, unlimited Full-Page Captures, unlimited Professional Exports, 100 Smart Snips a month, and 15 Research runs a month. At $12 a month that is about 40 cents a day. - Pro ("Research more"): everything in Starter, plus unlimited Smart Snip, with 40 Research runs a month. Intelligence ("Research seriously"): everything in Starter, plus unlimited Smart Snip, with 100 Research runs a month (200 in an annual plan's first month), for analysts, consultants, procurement and sales intelligence teams. - Metering: one new Smart Snip, one Extract Page run, one Full-Page Capture (its own PNG or PDF included) or one export action (an Excel, PDF, CSV, JSON or text file, or Download All as one ZIP) counts once. Every plan gets the same extraction quality. - These are the allowances in force in the current Chrome Web Store release; prices are unchanged, and Starter and Pro Research are 15 and 40 runs a month. - Research is charged 1 Research run only for a completed, billable result (SUCCESS or PARTIAL). An Insufficient evidence result is never charged. Unused monthly Research runs do not roll over. - Boundaries: Pulse works on the page you are actively viewing, when you click; it does not crawl sites or run on a schedule. Research uses only publicly reachable sources and does not access pages that require signing in. Pulse is not a company database, contact database or tender feed. It leaves a field blank rather than inventing a value, and does not claim to work on every page. - Capture boundary: on app-style pages that scroll inside an inner panel (for example dashboards, web mail and chat apps), capture currently reaches what is on screen rather than the whole panel. Chrome's own protected pages cannot be captured or extracted by any extension. - Pulse is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially integrated with Amazon, Shopify or WooCommerce. - Support: support@pulseextractor.com - Name: Pulse Extractor is software, a Chrome extension for webpages from pulseextractor.com (Chrome Web Store item coomkfjgkkofeiijapbidgogjkgodomg). It is not pulse extraction, the signal-processing technique for isolating pulses in a signal. Turns the webpage you are viewing into a structured result: tables, repeated records, company details, contacts, products and links. Limits: One page per run, when you click; no crawling, pagination or schedule; Only what the page contains; empty fields stay empty; Chrome's own protected pages cannot be read by any extension. - Research: live in 0.5.8. Goes beyond the current page: explores the organization's own website and wider public sources and returns one sourced result. Limits: Public sources only; never behind a sign-in; Not a company or contact database; Thin public evidence gives PARTIAL or Insufficient evidence. - Capture Full Page: live in 0.5.8. Saves a whole webpage, top to bottom, as one high-resolution PNG or a multi-page PDF with natural page breaks. Limits: On app-style pages that scroll inside an inner panel, the current release captures what is on screen rather than the whole panel; No JPG output; PNG and PDF only; Chrome's own protected pages cannot be captured by any extension. - Smart Snip: live in 0.5.8. Draw a box around a table, a text block or an image and take it away in the formats that fit: editable text, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF or PNG. Limits: Reads English and the 0.5.8 languages; accuracy varies by language, script and image quality; No handwriting; Local files: PNG, JPEG, WebP and PDF through Open Local File; Small, blurred or low-contrast text is the hard case; review what it read. - Text recognition (OCR) in Smart Snip: live in 0.5.8. Recognises printed text in a selected image region: English, plus the languages of multilingual recognition. Limits: Not perfect: small, blurred, stylised or low-contrast text needs checking; No handwriting; Languages beyond English: see multilingual recognition (Arabic and Traditional Chinese in Beta; Urdu, Hindi, Persian and Turkish planned). - Smart Snip Studio: live in 0.5.8. Crop, straighten, rotate, resize, annotate, highlight, blur, pixelate, redact and watermark a snip, with undo and the original always kept. Limits: Edits snips of webpages in Chrome; not a desktop or other-app capture tool. - Editable Word and PowerPoint replicas: live in 0.5.8. A snipped region rebuilt as an editable Word document or PowerPoint slide that keeps the layout, with genuine editable tables. Limits: A rebuilt, editable document, not a pixel-perfect facsimile; fonts are matched to close equivalents. - QR read and colour pick: live in 0.5.8. Read a QR code and pick an exact colour straight out of a snip. - Smart Snip on the page: live in 0.5.8. Drag a box on the page you are reading, or press Alt+Shift+S. - Smart Range: live in 0.5.8. Mark where it starts, scroll, mark where it ends, and Pulse captures only that range of a long page. - Scrollception: live in 0.5.8. Capture one scrolling panel inside a page, such as a chat, a feed or a long table, as PNG, PDF, Word or Excel. - Large tables to Excel: live in 0.5.8. Grids that load their rows as you scroll come out as real rows and columns in Excel. Limits: Large grids take minutes, not seconds; Measured on test grids; real sites vary. - Multilingual text recognition: live in 0.5.8. Chinese, Japanese, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian, with Arabic and Traditional Chinese in Beta. Limits: Accuracy varies by language, script and image quality; review the result; Urdu, Hindi, Persian and Turkish are planned, not shipping. - Open Local File: live in 0.5.8. Smart Snip a PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF from your computer, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V. - Formula recognition: planned, no date promised. Recognising mathematical formulas. - Focused Research: planned, no date promised. Name what matters and get research centered on it. - Handwriting support: planned, no date promised. Reading handwriting. ## Evidence - [Proof Lab](https://pulseextractor.com/proof): Real Pulse runs on public pages, with the original files published unedited: A 12-table government fees page becomes one 19-sheet workbook; A federal statistics table, drawn as a chart page, becomes a spreadsheet; A published rates table becomes an editable Word document and a slide; Nine thousand pixels of guidance, captured whole. - [Large web tables to Excel](https://pulseextractor.com/guides/export-large-web-table-to-excel): Tests of the large-table export (live in 0.5.8) on a 0.5.8 pre-release build: 10,000 rows × 22 columns: 200,000 cells compared, 0 wrong; 10,000 rows × 100 columns: 980,000 cells compared, 0 wrong; 100,000 rows × 22 columns: 2,000,000 cells compared, 0 wrong. Test grids, not a specific site; real grids vary. ## Comparisons - [Pulse Extractor compared with other tools](https://pulseextractor.com/compare/): Which tool for which job, with each competitor statement linked to its own source and check date. - [GoFullPage vs Pulse Extractor](https://pulseextractor.com/compare/gofullpage): People who want a fast, reliable full-page screenshot of the page in front of them, with light editing.
